Steve Vertigan


Steve's goal is to capture the sound that you, the artist imagined. With a bit of luck and skill, we can take it even beyond our imagination and expectations.

Steve takes pride in finding the artist's unique qualities. His primary role is to listen and understand the direction and find the best path for the project. Steve's experience in many contemporary genres, and training as a classical musician, offer him insight into a wide range of musical genres and styles. 

His recordings have been heard on commercial radio and television, movies, TV series, ads, and documentaries. They have charted many times and won awards. As a musician, Steve has performed with numerous ARIA and Grammy Award-winning artists. 

Steve holds a current Police Check and a Working with Children Pass. 

Simon Hossford

Simon has been Associate Musical Director on the productions Australia’s Got Talent and X-Factor, as well as being a member of the Australian Idol band. He has toured more than 48 different countries with artists including Vanessa Amorosi, Taxiride, Jon Stevens, Shannon Noll, Birtles/Shorrock/Goble, Anthony Callea, and recorded for artists including Bachelor Girl, Peter Andre, Guy Sebastian, Ross Wilson, Christine Anu, and Anna-Maria LaSpina.

In addition, Simon has also performed with Kylie Minogue, Joan Jett, Chris Isaac, Rogue Traders, Darryl Braithwaite, Petula Clarke, Thelma Houston, Steven Cummings, Errol Brown (Hot Chocolate), and Renee Geyer to name just a few. 

Peter Maslen

Peter Maslen - drummer  session musician

Peter ‘Maz’ Maslen first came to our attention as a drummer in 80s rock-pop outfit Boom Crash Opera, a band which has been doing quite a few comeback gigs lately. He can also be seen clicking sticks with Mark Seymour and The Undertow and a list of other acclaimed artists.

'Maz' has performed on many albums at Soggy Dog Recording and has also recorded or performed with:

Belinda Parsons

Belinda Parsons gained a Bachelor of Music Performance in Improvisation at the Victorian College of the Arts. Although many of Belinda's credits are in the theatre domain, she is equally at home on the jazz and rock stages. Belinda has exceptional knowledge and 'ear'  for harmony, producing anything from the very simple and expected to the most creative and complex backings in many diverse styles. Some of Belinda's credits include - The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber Tour to China, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber Live from the Great Hall of The People (DVD), Mack and Mabel (Production Company), HMS Pinafore, The Sound of Music, Crossroads (Workshop), Life's a Circus, Melbourne Cabaret Festival, A New Brain (Chapel off Chapel) and various other corporate events, concerts and television appearances.

Emilio Kormanic

Emilio Kormanic is a sought-after session guitarist. Having made a name for himself touring with acts around Australia and internationally, he now produces guitars for the TV shows  ‘Dancing With The Stars’, ‘The Masked Singer’ and ‘Name That Tune’ (USA). He is currently performing with Tina Arena and was recently featured with her during the New Years' Eve concert from the Sydney Opera House.

Emilio tours with Australian music icon Tina Arena (‘Enchanté’ - 2021 Australian Tour), Sony RnB artist Isaiah Firebrace (X-Factor/Eurovision), and a host of other prominent artists and bands.

Montana Sharp

Even though she's the youngest and newest member of our team at Soggy Dog Recording, Montana Sharp has already performed backing vocals on songs that have hit the AMRAP charts. After completing a double degree in Arts/Music at Monash (with distinction) in 2019, Montana has been working as a live performer and session musician, featuring on many EPs and albums across multiple genres. Montana has a background as a classical pianist. Her understanding of theory, contemporary chord progressions, and layering of harmonies allow her to create unique textures and conventional voice leading. 
Her raw and painfully honest songwriting has awarded her 'Best Original Song' in the Fast Track Singing Showcase (2014) and allowed her to perform at international venues in Europe and the US. Her songwriting and singing are getting her noticed by some of the biggest names in the industry.

Anthony Barnhill

Anthony Barnhill's performances have been described as 'heroic' (Wilma Smith, concertmaster MSO), 'sensitive and intelligent' (ArtsHub review), and displaying 'incredible showmanship' (Tina Arena). Anthony's credits span radio, national television, and as guest soloist with symphony orchestras.

In 2019, Anthony was the Associate Musical Director for the international tour of West Side Story (Opera Australia, GWB entertainment, BB group). Tour highlights included conducting performances at renowned opera houses worldwide, including Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin and the Sydney Opera House. Other musical theatre credits include Evita (Opera Australia), Oklahoma! (The Production Company) and most recently, as AMD for the Australian production of Chicago (GFO).

Anthony has worked for the Victorian State Schools Spectacular, Monash University, and Opera Scholars Australia. He has been the pianist for Grammy-nominated RnB artist Mario, toured China as Musical Director for Australian International Productions, and served as Composer in Residence for Creative Innovation Global.

​Anthony studied at Monash University, where he won numerous awards, including the flagship Concerto Competition, while also achieving the University's highest performance results in each year of study. He was the winner of the prestigious Rob Guest Endowment Musician Award.

Jason Vorherr

Jason Vorherr was the bass guitarist for the original line up of the Little River Band (BSG) featuring Glen Shorrock, Beeb Birtles and Graeham Goble, The Black Sorrows, Russell Morris, Daryl Braithwaite, Joe Camilleri, Kate Ceberano and many others. Jason has appeared numerous times on The Footy Show as a member of The Footy Show Band as well as many appearances on Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton.

Jason works at Soggy Dog Recording as a musical producer, arranger, guitarist, bass player and vocalist. 

Amber Ferraro

Amber Ferraro performs at sold-out shows throughout Australia, including The Nightcat in Fitzroy with her band 'Honey.' She has recently performed for eight thousand fans at two of Australia's most popular festivals; Golden Plains and Strawberry Fields. Amber graduated from Monash University with a music degree in improvisation. She records at Soggy Dog as a lead or backing vocalist.

Jack Earle
Piano, keyboards, trumpet and backing vocals

Professional theatre productions include Dream Lover, Evita, Kiss Of The Spider-Woman, and West Side Story. Jack records and performs and is often music director for Rhonda Burchmore, David Campbell, Rob Mills, Kate Ceberano, and Tina Arena. 

Jack's extensive composition credits include two albums of original music (The Jack Earle Big Band and Is This Real?), dance-theatre works, and numerous jingles for television and radio. 'Is this Real' was recorded here at Soggy Dog Recording.

Jack studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music (California) with a full-tuition scholarship. In 2022, Jack will be Musical Director of The Who's Tommy for Victorian Opera.


Sam See

A founding member of Sherbet,  Sam went on to become musical director for John Farnham and Brian Cadd, whilst furthering his career as a producer, studio musician, arranger and songwriter. Sam’s best-known song is "Reasons" from Farnham's "Whispering Jack”.

He has played on and produced records by artists including Tina Arena, Brian Cadd, Normie Rowe, Goanna and The Black Sorrows. Sam was musical director of the landmark Bicentennial concert, “Under the Southern Cross” and Steve Vizard's "Tonight Live" – a five-nights-a-week national TV show. 

Pete Ryan


Pete Ryan's international career includes:

  • Performances at the Royal Albert Hall.

  • The Fillmore in San Francisco.

  • UK & European festivals such as the Reading and Roskilde with audiences up to 200,000.

Pete's recording career includes a top 20, UK hit and work with Peter Hammond (PWL), Tom Watkins (Pet Shop Boys, E17, etc.), and Dominic Finley (Cutting Crew). Pete performs and records various styles, including ska, reggae, blues, metal, pop, and rap. He was involved in early recordings of artists such as Rob Mills and rapper 360.

Pete holds a current Police Check and a current Working with Children Pass. 

Justin Humphries



Justin Humphries is an accomplished and experienced percussionist, sound engineer, composer, and educator living in Melbourne, Australia. With a rich and varied career spanning over 30 years, Justin has performed and recorded as a percussionist and operated as a sound engineer with numerous bands and artists.
