How long do I need to make my recording?
Demo and practice recording
If you already have backing tracks, recording and mixing 2 songs will normally take 1 to 2 hours. This allows time to make 2 or 3 takes and compile the best parts of each. You may also like to re-record individual phrases.
Price range: $66 - $132
'Live' recording
Many performers like to record a whole set in a single take. This is especially true of jazz duos and singer/guitarists who perform regularly. For about 8 songs, allow 30 minutes to warm up (free), 1 to 2 hours to record and listen. Mixing takes between 10 and 40 minutes per song depending on the purpose of the recording.
Price range: 8 songs 2 to 7 hours. $132 - $360* (*includes discount)
Album/EP
Every singer is different here. Generally allow an hour or two per song for the vocal track. The recording may be made over a couple of sessions, so that fatigue is minimised.
Price range: call to discuss your needs.
